CENTOCOW

A visitor facility at the Centocow Monastery near Creighton in Southern KZN with a 50 seater dining room and 12 bed accommodation was developed in one of the original Trappist buildings. The furniture for this project was designed to be delivered by the carpentry workshop established at the Dalton Private Reserve. The language of furniture developed for the Dalton workshop fits with the craftsmanship and monastic aesthetic of the pioneering monks.

Angela Shaw and Sara Bustin of Koop delivered a simple interior and full turn-key fit out, inspired by the iconography of the monastery and the lives of the monks, that blends seamlessly with the existing tradition.
